Cryptocurrency for diamonds in $20mln auction

An Australian Technology Startup Yourdiamonds.com founded by Tim Goodman, a former Executive Chairman of Sotheby’s Australia, was requested by an Australian Finance Corporation, as mortgagee in possession, holding a collection of five rare Argyle pink diamonds, to sell the stones on their behalf. The diamonds ranging in size from from 0.40-carat to 1.01-carat were expected to fetch over $1 million. The request to sell the rare beauties of nature inspired Tim Goodman to expand the sale to include other pink diamonds from Argyle that may be foiund in private collections, whose owners may be interested in selling their collections.
First ‘public tender’ of Argyle pink diamonds expected to break records
The first-ever ‘public tender’ of Argyle pink diamonds, including 33 previously-owned stones ranging from 0.23–2.00 carats, is expected to break the record for the most expensive diamond sold in Australia.
Organised by YourDiamonds.com, the tender will tour Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth in a ‘roadshow’ from 21–28 June, with bids – open globally to both members of the public and the jewellery trade – closing at 5pm on 1 July.
Argyle pink diamonds offered at public tender
More than 30 Argyle pink diamonds ranging from 0.13 carat to 2 carats are on offer at a global public tender by Australian diamond technology start-up, yourdiamonds.com.
The first-ever global public sealed bid tender opened on June 21 and will run until July 13, according to the yourdiamonds.com website. Featured lots will include diamonds from the collection of esteemed connoisseur Di Fitzpatrick of Brisbane who acquired her Argyle pinks in the 1980s; a South Australian financial corporation; and eight private collectors.

The first ever public tender for Australian pink diamonds is set to go live next month.
In total the set of five stones, from the famous Argyle Diamond Mine, are expected to bring in a haul of over $1 million (£720,000).
The pink diamonds range in size from 0.4ct to 1.01ct will be sold by Australian technology startup Yourdiamonds.com.
The Argyle Diamond Mine provides the terminology used by the mine to colour grade pink diamonds produced by it.
